May sees us reach 15 years of our ‘Very Best In Stand Up’ shows, and 14 of those years at Nantwich Civic Hall and we’ve seen some superb comedians take to the stage in that time and seen many go on to become household names.

 

Joe Lycett, Rob Beckett, Josh Widdicombe, Chris Ramsey, Joel Dommett, James Acaster, Zoe Lyons - and many more - have all graced the stage at Nantwich Civic in those 14 years and we’ve got a rather fantastic line-up to celebrate another year of our long running comedy nights and to mark the occasion, we’re dropping back into a bit of the nights’ history.

 

Who better to host our evening than a man who has been an ever present at our shows until around 5 years ago and whilst he now does tours instead of the comedy circuit, we’re delighted that he’s agreed to come back and host the show. We used to bang on about Dan Nightingale being one of the most under-rated comedians around, then he went and got a podcast with fellow comic Adam Rowe and the rest is history. Now one of the most popular UK based podcasts in the country, this is a very rare chance to see Dan back at one of his favourite venues (we reckon it is, anyway).

 

Opening up our show is a comedian who played our second show at Nantwich Civic and has since gone onto to become a touring theatre comedian after a successful stint on Britains Got Talent, that saw him reach the semi-final stage of the show. Prior to his BGT appearances, Markus has long been in demand throughout the world as one of the very best stand up comics on the circuit - playing everywhere from Plymouth to Pakistan and New Zealand to, well, Nantwich. One of the absolute stalwarts of live comedy and always a pleasure to have Markus 

 

In the middle section, we have  Dan Tiernan - a comic making their debut with us and highly regarded as one of the fastest rising stars of the comedy circuit. Dan is a 26-year-old, gay, Mancunian with dyspraxia. He’s a high energy act with a gag heavy set all about his weird and chaotic life. With appearances on ‘QI’ and ‘8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown’ to follow from being crowned champion at the BBC New Act Of The Year awards last year, he’s certainly someone to catch now. 

 

Closing our evening, we have the superb Mike Gunn, Mike, who appeared in the Independent’s list of top 10 stand up comedians in the country, has a list of TV appearances including Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and a host of sell-out tours under his belt in his years as one of the UK’s top comedians working today. A fitting close to what should be an absolute storming night of live comedy that you don’t want to miss.
