The time has come for the final show of the season as we welcome four more top acts before our summer break, returning in September.

 

This season has played host to some fantastic nights of live comedy - amongst the best in the 15 years that we’ve been at Nantwich Civic, so it’s only fitting that we bring you another brilliant night of live stand up comedy to finish the season in style!

 

In a change to the originally advertised line-up, Unfortunately Allyson June Smith has had to re-schedule with us and in her place will be Bristolian comic Mark Olver. Mark's been on the comedy scene since the late 90's and has been nominated several times in the 'Best Compere' catagories of the UK's leading comedy awards. His fast wit and comic timing has lead to him becoming a TV warm up on many popular TV shows and it's always a pleasure having him play for us in Nantwich.

 

In the opening section, we’ll be welcoming back Chris Washington. Hailing from Wigan, Chris started out in comedy in 2012, balancing the late nights of comedy clubs with the early mornings of being a postman. In 2017, Chris posted his last letter, said goodbye to his glittering postal career and took his debut show to Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival and hasn’t looked back. Since then, he’s appeared ‘Mock The Week’, ‘House of Games’ and hosted programming on Radio X.

 

Matt Bragg is in our middle section and he’ll be making a welcome return after making his debut with us in 2023. Matt’s low-energy, deadpan style is the perfect contrast to our closing act and his meticulously crafted jokes and observational style have propelled him to his first national headline tour in the past six months, taking in theatres across the UK. With Ricky Gervais amongst his plaudits, it’s easy to see why Matt’s taking that next step in the world, so see him with us while you can.

 

Closing the show, we’ll have more international flavour as Australian comic Thomas Green will close out the season. One of the most asked about comedians since he was last with us three years ago, Thomas charms the audience as your best mate Aussie and then delivers a set full of straight stand up peppered with fine storytelling, sharp observational comedy and some killer punchlines. An energetic and killer act to finish our current season of The Very Best In Stand Up.

​The show takes place on Friday 6th June and tickets are on sale now, priced at £12. They are available from the Civic Hall directly or the seetickets links below.
