The Very Best In Stand Up is presented by Straight Up Comedy in conjunction with Nantwich Town Council.
April sees us take a mini-break while the Civic is used for Nantwich Jazz Festival so our show on March 6th is your chance to catch live comedy before we return in May.
Compering the evening will be a first time appearance from Joe McTernan. Hailing from Edinburgh, Joe’s been on the circuit for a number of years now, having ben tour support for both Tom Stade and Steve Hughes, along with his own Edinburgh Shows at the Fringe.
Opening up the show we have Ben Norris - a man who’s been long in demand right across the circuit since he started doing stand up over 30 years ago. Ben’s TV Credits include ‘Mock The Week’, ’Never Mind The Buzzcocks’ and ‘They Think It’s All Over’. Not only does Ben have that three decades of tried and tested material, he’s also a fantastic improviser, who can work any room.
Following Ben, we have Harry Stachini. Since leaving his job as a teacher and becoming a stand up around 10 years ago, Harry has quickly moved through the gears on the UK comedy scene. His 2019 debut Edinburgh show garnered excellent reviews and his follow up show, 2024’s ‘Grenade’ achieved fringe sell out status across the run.
Closing the show is Terry Alderton. Like Ben, Terry’s been a stalwart of the UK comedy scene for a number of years and his TV credits are plenty. Host of the National Lottery, Eastenders, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and more but it’s the stage and live show where Terry is truly at home. His manic and whirlwind set was lapped up last time he was with us three years ago and we’re delighted he’s agreed to come back and do another set to close out the March show.
