With January’s show selling out three weeks before the show, it’s time to move to the second show of 2025 and we have a mixture of familiar acts and acts playing the club for the first time.

Since we started running comedy in 2005, we’ve had some acts that have been coming back time and time again and very much in demand by you. One of those acts is Dan Nightingale and we’re delighted to welcome him back to compere the evening. The co-host of one of the UK’s most popular comedy podcasts ‘Have A Word’, Dan is embarking a large theatre tour of the country with his latest show, Murderer’s Row, with co-host Adam Rowe.

Adam Bloom takes to the stage as one of the real veterans of the comedy scene and widely considered one of the UK’s original stand-up comedians. Winner of Time Out’s comedian of the year award in 1998, Adam is the writer of many jokes that you hear on shows such as Mock The Week and Russell Howard’s Good News. With a comedy CV that shows more Edinburgh Fringe sell out runs than most other comedians and a number of comedy and wellbeing books written, Adam’s versatility and understanding has lead to him being at the top of the comedy circuit for almost 30 years.

From someone who has been part of the UK comedy scene for decades to someone ripping up the comedy scene in a short space of time, we have Geordie Louise Young playing the civic for the first time. Her debut Edinburgh show, ‘Feral’, was nominated for a Best Newcomer award at the Edinburgh Fringe awards and she’s about to undertake a UK tour with that show the week after the show. One things for sure, you’re going to hear a lot more of this bright comedic talent in 2025.

Closing the show, we welcome back Charlie Baker. Beginning his comedy career in the early 00’s, Charlie is now a well known face from TV appearances from shows such The Last Leg and The Great British Bake Off as well as a well-known voice from his Talksport show on Saturday mornings. Last year, he took his latest tour ’24 Hour Pasty People’ on a UK theatre run and after last playing for us a number of years ago, we're thrilled to have him back to close the second show of 2025.

The show takes place on Friday 7th March and tickets are on sale now, priced at £12. They are available from the Civic Hall directly or the seetickets links below. The show starts at 8.15pm with the doors opening at 7.15pm. Reservations are available to groups of six or more by clicking the link below after you purchase tickets.

NOTE: Tickets are purchased for The Very Best In Stand Up and not for any acts listed as these are subject to change. Over 18's Only. Discretion is advised if you think you may be offended. Only food and drink purchased at the venue may be consumed at our normal monthly shows. You will not be allowed to bring your own.
